The High Line: Dogs are welcome on leash along the full length of the park. Go early on weekday mornings for the lightest foot traffic and the best views.
Chelsea Waterside Dog Run: An enclosed off-leash run on the Hudson with separate areas for large and small dogs. One of the better-maintained runs on the west side.
Eighth Avenue and side streets: The numbered cross streets between Eighth and Tenth Avenue stay walkable through most of the day and are a reliable option for reactive dogs who need a lower-stimulus route.
