Turtle Bay
Turtle Bay runs roughly from 42nd to 53rd Street between Second and Third Avenue. The UN Secretariat building anchors the east end of the neighborhood, and the blocks around it are some of the quietest in Midtown. Beekman Place and Sutton Place South sit just to the south and connect naturally into a longer private walk route along the East River edge. The Tudor City steps and the small park on 42nd Street between First and Second Avenue are local anchor points our walkers use regularly.
Sutton Place
Sutton Place is among the most residential and least-trafficked stretches of Midtown East. The blocks from 53rd to 59th Street along the East River have almost no through traffic and include Sutton Place Park, a small waterfront park that gives dogs a genuine green space option without leaving the neighborhood. For dogs that struggle with Midtown density, Sutton Place is often the most manageable part of the east side to walk.
Kips Bay
Kips Bay sits south of Turtle Bay, from roughly 27th to 34th Street between Second and Third Avenue. It borders Murray Hill to the west and Gramercy to the south, and the side streets in the low 30s are quiet enough to walk at almost any time of day. The neighborhood has a high concentration of medical facilities near NYU Langone, which affects midday foot traffic on First Avenue but leaves the residential side streets largely unaffected.
